So far this year, OnePlus has already launched a phone under the Nord series named the NORD CE 2 5G, and there are many more to come, such as the NORD 2T, Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, etc. Another phone that is launching soon under this series is the OnePlus NORD 3. As the name suggests, this one is the successor to OnePlus NORD 2, which is currently the most powerful and also the most expensive phone under the NORD series.
The leaks and rumors so far have suggested that the NORD 3 is a rebadged Realme GT Neo 3. The GT Neo 3 is launching on the 22nd of March, but the NORD 3 is not expected to launch anytime soon. OnePlus has already announced that in Q2 2022, it will launch a phone with 150W charging. Since the GT Neo 3 supports 150W charging and the NORD 3 is a rebadged GT Neo 3, we won’t be surprised if the phone that OnePlus is going to launch in Q2 is the NORD 3.
Digital Chat Station, a very reliable source on Weibo, shared the spec sheet of the NORD 3 on Weibo, and the specifications are similar to the GT Neo 3. So, as per DCS, the OnePlus NORD 3 has a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED with a Full-HD+ resolution and a hole punch in the center, not in the corner. The SOC powering this phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 that launched recently. This is a flagship SOC by MediaTek that is built on the 5nm TSMC process. It is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The camera setup on the rear remains the same as on the OnePlus NORD 2. So, there is a primary 50MP IMX766 sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. The battery size is 4,500mAh, and there is support for 150W SuperVOOC charging. Finally, the phone has an under-display fingerprint scanner and an X-axis motor.
Well, we do not know the exact launch date of the NORD 3 yet, but these specs suggest that the NORD 3 is not going to be your typical affordable OnePlus phone. The OnePlus NORD 2 launched last year at a starting price of ₹27,999 in India, so if the NORD 3 launches in India with these specs, expect the price to be at least ₹35,000.
