Recently, we got to know that OnePlus NORD CE 2 5G is launching on the 2nd of February, and it is like a toned-down version of the OnePlus NORD 2 of last year. So, while the NORD 2 had Dimensity 1200 SOC, the NORD CE 2 5G has Dimensity 900. But now, we got to know that there is another NORD series device that is set to launch very soon in India named the OnePlus NORD 2T. Unlike the NORD CE 2 5G, which is a toned-down version of NORD 2, the NORD 2T is an upgrade. Some major specifications of the phone were shared by OnLeaks in collaboration with Digit.in.
One of the biggest upgrades that the NORD 2T brings over the NORD 2 is in performance. Compared to the Dimensity 1200-AI SOC of NORD 2, the NORD 2T has Dimensity 1300 SOC. As of now, the Dimensity 1300 has not yet been launched. There is a chip with a similar number in its name, but that is the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T which is for tablets, 2-in-1’s, laptops, etc.
Another major upgrade comes in the charging speed. The OnePlus NORD 2T supports 80W fast charging over NORD 2’s 65W. As we know, right now, there is only one phone by OnePlus that supports 80W wired charging, and that’s the latest OnePlus 10 Pro which is a high-end premium flagship. The battery size will remain the same as NORD 2, i.e., 4,500mAh.
The display is also the same, so it is a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED with a Full-HD+ resolution. The triple camera module on the back has a primary 50MP sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. For selfies, the phone has a 32MP camera.
Well, looking at the specs, it is safe to say that the OnePlus NORD 2T differs from the OnePlus NORD 2 in only two things – performance & charging speed. There is the same display, the same cameras, and the same battery size.
OnePlus is expected to launch a NORD series phone in India next month, but that is most likely the NORD CE 2 5G, not the NORD 2T. As of now, we have no information on the launch date of NORD 2T in India.
