Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Geekbench score revealed

A big performance improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Elite!

The Snapdragon 8 Elite was unveiled in October last year, and it was the first Qualcomm chipset to feature the Oryon CPU. The result is a massive performance improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Snapdragon 8 Elite offers up to a 45% faster CPU and 40% faster GPU than the 8 Gen 3. The AI performance is also better by up to 45%.

Well, the company is already working on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, and the Geekbench scores of the chipset were shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 comes with the model number ‘SM8850’, and features the second-generation Oryon CPU architecture. Speaking of the Geekbench scores, the chipset scores over 4,000 points on single-core and over 11,000 points on multi-core. For comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Elite scores around 3100 points on single-core and around 9800 points on multi-core.

The GPU is the Adreno 840, versus the Adreno 830 in the predecessor. Compared to the 12MB dedicated memory for the Adreno 830 GPU in the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Adreno 840 GPU gets 16MB dedicated memory in the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.

Well, these details suggest some big performance improvements in the upcoming 8 Elite 2. The Snapdragon Summit is scheduled for September this year so the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 should launch at the same event.
