In October last year, the Redmi Note 11 series launched in the Chinese market. The company launched three phones under this series initially – Note 11, Note 11 Pro, and Note 11 Pro+. After a year, the Redmi Note 12 series will launch in China. The official launch is on October 27, in just a few days. But interestingly, this time, Redmi has not shared a ton of details about the phones like it usually does.
Today, however, Redmi announced that the Note 12 series would feature the Sony IMX766 camera sensor with OIS support. Note that not all the phones under Note 12 series will have this sensor. As the image suggests, we might see this sensor on only the Note 12 “Pro” phones. The Sony IMX766 is a 1/1.56-inch sensor that outputs 50 Megapixel images and has been used in various mid-range and high-end phones.
Design-wise, Redmi has only shared the camera module design, which is similar to the one on Redmi Note 11T Pro/Pro+, which launched as Poco X4 GT and Redmi K50i in the global market.
Well, there aren’t a ton of leaks so far, so it is better to wait for some more details. Anyways, since the launch is happening in a couple of days, we won’t have to wait much longer.
