Redmi K50 series officially launching next month

There will be Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as well as Dimensity 9000-powered phones

We are already done with the Xiaomi 12 series launch, so it is time for Redmi to unveil its high-end phones now. We were expecting that the Redmi K50 series would go official in February, just like the Redmi K40 series last year. Today, the company officially confirmed the same, and while we still do not know the exact launch date, Redmi did say, “See you next month.” Along with that, the company also shared a couple of details such as the battery size, charging speed, processor, etc.

Redmi K50 series

As per Redmi, there is Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC, but it cannot be said whether the vanilla model will launch with the Snapdragon chip or the Pro or Pro+ model. This is because earlier, Redmi also announced that the K50 series would feature the Dimensity 9000 SOC as well. And another interesting thing is Digital Chat Station, a highly trusted source on Weibo, revealed earlier that the K50 series will feature Dimensity 8000 SOC as well. So, we are looking at three different chipsets here and hence at least three high-end phones under the K50 series.

What we think is that the vanilla Redmi K50 has the Dimensity 8000, the K50 Pro has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC, and the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition has the Dimensity 9000 SOC. But this is just speculation right now.

Anyways, Redmi also confirmed in the official post that there is 120W fast charging and a 4,700mAh battery. As we know by a recent leak, the K50 Gaming Edition supports 120W charging too! The company says it takes just 17 minutes to fully charge the 4,700mAh cell.

Well, we definitely need some more clarification on what phone under the K50 series has what SOC, so we will wait for some more details via the official or unofficial sources.
