Motorola X50 Ultra to launch in China on May 16

Powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3!

Motorola will launch its premium flagship of 2024 in China on May 16, the Motorola X50 Ultra. It will be the first “Ultra” phone under the “X” series in China. The company has already shared the official first look of the phone on Weibo, and we also know the specifications of the phone via various sources.

The official videos and posts from the company reveal the phone with a “wood” material on the rear. But there is also a version with a glass back. The back has three camera sensors, one of which has a periscope lens. On the front, the phone has a curved display with a hole punch in the center for the selfie camera.

Speaking of the specifications, the Motorola X50 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The decision to choose the 8s Gen 3 instead of the 8 Gen 3 has something to do with the cost of the phone since the 8s Gen 3 is a more affordable chipset.

The phone has a 6.7-inch 1.5K 144Hz OLED display, a 4,500mAh battery, 125W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, IP68 certification, and a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port. The selfie camera has a 50MP sensor.

On the back, there are three cameras – a 1/1.3″ 50MP OmniVision OV50H sensor for the primary camera, a 1/2.76” 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor for the ultrawide, and a 1/2″ 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor for the 3X periscope telephoto camera.

There is a metal frame, and the phone weighs 197g.

The price for the Chinese market is not yet known, but rumors suggest a starting price of around ¥2599, or $360.

The Motorola X50 Ultra is coming to the global market as the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.
