In our previous article, we talked about Redmi 11 Prime 5G, a sub-15K phone with 5G support. But along with that phone, Redmi also launched the 4G version. The 4G version comes with MediaTek Helio G99, and this is the same phone as the recently launched Poco M5. The phone’s price starts at ₹12,999, which is quite interesting considering the Poco M5 starts at ₹12,499.
The design is the only thing that makes Redmi 11 Prime different than the Poco M5. The phone looks completely different from the rear since it does not have that camera module design that extends to the other side. The back panel also seems to have a different texture than the leather finish on the Poco M5. Apart from these, there is no difference. The phone has flat sides, a waterdrop notch on the front, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, an IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the phone has Helio G99 chip built on the 6nm process and is quite a powerful SOC in this price segment. Poco claims that the Poco M5 is the fastest phone in its price segment, so if that’s the case, we can say the same for the Redmi 11 Prime. There is up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. The phone has a triple card slot, so you can put two SIM cards and also a microSD card at the same time.
The triple camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera and two 2MP sensors. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera. The display is a 6.58-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and there is 18W fast charging support. Finally, Android 12 runs out of the box with MIUI 13.
Redmi 11 Prime comes in three colors, and here is the pricing –
- 4GB + 64GB – ₹12,999
- 6GB + 128GB – ₹14,999
Redmi has not yet revealed the date for the first sale.
