Realme GT 2 Pro said to have the best flat 2K display on a smartphone

Well, that's a pretty bold claim but the display specs are here to back it up

Just a few days are now left for 2021 to end and in the first week of January, we are getting a few new flagships from companies including Realme, Xiaomi, iQOO, etc. Xiaomi is launching its 12 series phones whereas Realme is set to unveil the GT 2 series. As we know already, the GT 2 series includes a vanilla GT 2 and also the GT 2 Pro. We have even seen the renders of Realme GT 2 Pro that showed a rear design inspired by Nexus 6P. Also, just recently, we got to know the specifications of the GT 2 Pro as the device showed up on TENAA.

Now, Realme has shared the display specifications on its Weibo profile and the company claims that the GT 2 Pro is having the best flat 2K panel ever on a smartphone.

Realme shared a series of images in various posts on Weibo that we have shared above. So, the Realme GT 2 Pro has a 6.7-inch display and it is a flat 10-bit AMOLED by Samsung with a 2K resolution (3216 x 1440 pixels). Moreover, it features the 2nd Generation LTPO technology that results in an adaptive refresh rate that can go as low as 1Hz and as high as 120Hz when required. We have seen LTPO tech used on many phones but most of them can lower their refresh rate to as low as 10Hz only. The Realme GT 2 Pro can go as low as 1Hz and that’s impressive!

The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and supports HDR10+ content too. The display on GT 2 Pro also has extremely narrow bezels on all four sides. Realme says that this 2nd generation LTPO tech has improved the power efficiency too and the overall battery life is increased by up to 1.7 hours.

Finally, the panel has an instantaneous touch response rate of 1000Hz so this is going to be a great display for gamers too. DisplayMate has given this panel an A+ rating which is the highest rating a smartphone display can get on DisplayMate.

Well, we know that Realme GT 2 Pro is the most expensive phone by the company so it is not surprising to see the best hardware is used on this phone. Well, for now, we will keep all the display claims by Realme aside because unless the phone is tested in real life we cannot say anything about the quality of this screen.
