In January, the Realme 12 Pro & Realme 12 Pro+ were launched in the Indian market, featuring a premium design & great camera hardware. Today, the brand launched two more phones under the “12” series – Realme 12 5G & Realme 12+ 5G. The Realme 12 5G is an upgrade over last year’s Realme 11 5G.
REALME 12 5G
Realme 12 5G comes with a camera module design on the rear that is similar to the Realme 12 Pro series. There is a circular camera module with a dual camera setup and an LED flash. Realme calls it the “Trendy Watch Design” since the brand took inspiration from the designs of watches. Unlike the Realme 12 Pro series, no vegan leather is on the rear, even though the phone has a similar strip in the middle.
The frame is flat, and so is the display on the front. The fingerprint sensor doubles as the power button, there are stereo speakers, and the phone does not skip the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Speaking of specifications, the Realme 12 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset, the same SOC that powered the Realme 11 5G. There is 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB storage. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, a downgrade from last year’s Realme 11 5G, which featured 67W fast charging.
The dual camera setup on the rear includes a primary 108MP 1/1.67″ sensor with an f/1.75 lens and a secondary 2MP depth sensor. This sounds like the same camera configuration as the Realme 11 5G. The front camera has an 8MP sensor, down from 16MP on the Realme 11 5G.
The phone has a 6.72-inch LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. While these are the same specifications as the Realme 11 5G, the peak brightness is increased to 950 nits versus 680 nits.
Finally, Realme UI 5.0 runs out of the box, based on Android 14.

REALME 12+ 5G
The Realme 12+ 5G looks the same as the Realme 12 5G, except for the vegan leather on the back and an extra camera. The fingerprint sensor sits under the display instead of on the side. There are stereo speakers, and the phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, Realme 12+ 5G has the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G chipset. It has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage. The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 67W fast charging.
Realme 12+ 5G has three cameras on the back – a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with an f/1.88 lens + OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The phone can shoot 4K videos at up to 30fps. For selfies, there is a 16MP sensor.
The display is a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED with a Full-HD+ resolution, HDR10+ certification, and 2000 nits peak brightness. The phone also features Rainwater Smart Touch technology, which we have seen on some high-end Oppo and OnePlus phones.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0.
