The Realme 11 Pro & Realme 11 Pro+ were launched in India in June last year, featuring a premium design, a curved display, and a circular camera module on the rear. Both the phones had a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset and the same display. The main difference between the two was the cameras; the Realme 11 Pro had a 100MP sensor with OIS, whereas the Realme 11 Pro+ had a 200MP sensor with OIS. The Pro+ had an 8MP ultrawide camera, but the Pro did not.

Today, the Realme 12 Pro series was launched in the Indian market, featuring the Realme 12 Pro & Realme 12 Pro+. This year, the main focus is also on the design & cameras. Both the phones look almost identical, but this year, there are some significant differences between the two in terms of specifications.

REALME 12 PRO

REALME 12 PRO

Realme says the camera module design is inspired by luxury watches. The circular camera module has 300 triangular grooves on the bezel and 500 gradient sunburst patterns. The back has a premium vegan leather material. The camera module has three camera sensors and an LED flash. The fourth circle does not have a camera. It is just to make the camera module look symmetrical.

The phone is IP65 certified and has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.

REALME 12 PRO

Speaking of camera specs, Realme 12 Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor for the primary camera with OIS and an f/1.8 lens. The second camera takes ultrawide photos and has an 8MP sensor with a 112-degree FOV. The third camera has a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor with OIS and an f/2.0 lens, offering up to 2x optical zoom. Speaking of cameras, the Realme 12 Pro is a massive upgrade over the Realme 11 Pro, which didn’t even have an ultrawide last year.

For selfies, the phone has a 16MP sensor. The phone can shoot 4K videos at up to 30fps via the rear camera.

REALME 12 PRO

Realme 12 Pro has a curved display on the front with a hole punch cutout in the centre. It is a 6.7-inch 120Hz Full-HD+ OLED display with 10-bit color depth, 2160Hz PWM Dimming, and 950 nits local peak brightness. There is an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, Realme 12 Pro has the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. This chip was announced in 2022 and is built on the 4nm process. There is an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.2GHz, and Realme claims an AnTuTu score of over 590,000 points. There is 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB internal storage. The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 67W fast charging.

Finally, Realme 12 Pro runs on Realme UI 5.0, based on Android 14.

The phone comes in two colors – Submarine Blue & Navigator Beige. Here is the pricing –

  • 8GB + 128GB – ₹25,999
  • 8GB + 256GB – ₹26,999

For comparison, Realme 11 Pro was launched at ₹23,999. For ₹2000 extra this year, you are getting a more efficient and probably more powerful chipset, IP65 certification, and better cameras.

REALME 12 PRO+

REALME 12 PRO+

Realme 12 Pro+ looks similar to the 12 Pro, but the phone has one noticeable design change. The camera module has a periscope camera on the back instead of a normal telephoto camera. It’s been quite some time since we saw a periscope camera in a Realme device at this price segment. In 2020, the Realme X3 SuperZoom was launched in India, and that phone had a periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.

As for the camera specs, the primary camera has a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 lens. The ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor, and the periscope camera has a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor with OIS and f/2.8 lens. The periscope camera offers 3x optical zoom. The phone can shoot 4K videos at up to 30fps. The selfie camera has a 32MP sensor.

The display is the same as Realme 12 Pro, and so is the battery and charging. The phone has IP65 rating, stereo speakers and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the phone has the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, the same SOC that powers the Redmi Note 13 Pro. This is a 4nm chip with an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.4GHz. Realme claims an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 660,000 points.

Finally, Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 runs out of the box.

Realme 12 Pro+ comes in three colors – Submarine Blue, Navigator Beige, and Explorer Red. Here is the pricing –

  • 8GB + 128GB – ₹29,999
  • 8GB + 256GB – ₹31,999
  • 12GB + 256GB – ₹33,999
