Now, Kirin 810 launched in mid-2019 in China & it absolutely destroyed the competition when it was unveiled. FYI, it is the only 7nm SOC currently in the market after Snapdragon 855, 855+, Apple’s A12 Bionic, Kirin 980 & Exynos 9825. Moreover, it is a mid-range SOC instead of a flagship chipset, so that makes it unique. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 is an 8nm SOC while Helio G90T is a 12nm SOC.
So, how does the MediaTek Helio G90T compares to the Kirin 810? Well, it’s time for the MediaTek Helio G90T vs Kirin 810 Comparison & like all our comparison articles, we will compare almost everything, from the CPU, GPU, etc. to the benchmark scores of both the chips.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

As mentioned above, the HiSilicon Kirin 810 is a 7nm chipset, so this gives it a massive edge over the MediaTek Helio G90T which is a 12nm SOC. 7nm manufacturing process is something that most flagship SOCs these days are based on & it is impressive that Huawei went for the same process to make the Kirin 810, its mid-range chip. The 7nm process ensures that the Kirin 810 is not only powerful but also extremely power efficient.
Hence, in terms of the manufacturing process, the Kirin 810 blows the MediaTek Helio G90T out of the water.
CPU

Coming to the Central Processing Unit or the CPU, both the SOCs have a similar arrangement of cores. So, when it comes to Kirin 810, there are two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.27GHz & six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 1.88GHz. The MediaTek Helio G90T also has two Cortex-A76 cores, but they are clocked at 2.05GHz. It has six efficiency cores, just like Kirin 810.
Well, in terms of the CPU as well, the Kirin 810 takes the lead & this is a similar case as with Snapdragon 730 that also has high-performance cores with clock speeds higher than those of MediaTek Helio G90T.
GPU
When it comes to the GPU, it’s completely opposite. The MediaTek Helio G90T has ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU which is better than the ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU of the Kirin 810 SOC. So, in terms of the GPU, the Helio G90T is better. Again, this is something we saw when we compared the Helio G90T with Snapdragon 730 as the G90T beats 730 as well in terms of the GPU.
DISPLAY & CAMERA SUPPORT
Both are mid-range SOCs & hence support up to Full-HD+ resolutions. As for camera support, we don’t have much information related to Kirin 810, but MediaTek Helio G90T supports 64MP single camera & 24MP + 16MP Dual cameras. Looking at how powerful the Kirin 810 is, we don’t think it is difficult for it to support a 64MP camear sensor.

MEDIATEK HELIO G90T VS KIRIN 810 – BENCHMARKS
Well, now that we are done with the specifications of both the SOCs, it’s time to talk about the benchmark scores because this is something most of the users look at when they want to compare the performance of two smartphones.
ANTUTU V7

Talking about the AnTuTu V7 score, the Kirin 810 scores around 237K, which means it beats the Snapdragon 730 as well in terms of the AnTuTu score. Breaking this score down, the Kirin 810 scores around 92K in CPU, 73K in GPU, 15K in Memory & around 56K in UX.

The MediaTek Helio G90T, on the other hand, scores around 225K on AnTuTu which shows there isn’t a huge difference in the scores of two SOCs. It scores around 85K in CPU, 70K in GPU, 55K in UX & 14.5K in Memory. So, the main difference comes in the CPU score, which is obvious as the Kirin 810 has higher clocked high-performance cores.
ANTUTU V8

The newer version of AnTuTu is already out in China, i.e., AnTuTu V8. It takes into consideration some other factors as well, which is the reason why the scores are higher than those on V7. Talking about AnTuTu V8 scores, the Kirin 810 scores impressive 301K while the MediaTek Helio G90T scores around 283K. So, here also, the Kirin 810 takes the lead.
GEEKBENCH

In the above image, we can see that Kirin 810 scores around 2,832 on single-core & 7,859 on multi-core & these are impressive scores for a mid-range SOC. As we mentioned in our Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 730 comparison, the Helio G90T scores around 2,400 on single-core & around 7,000 on multi-core. So, this clearly shows the CPU prowess of the Kirin 810.
AI BENCHMARK
Every smartphone SOC these days is coming with some AI features, no matter if it is a mid-range chip or a flagship one. The Kirin 810’s highlight is the AI Accelerator built on the Da Vinci architecture from Huawei that makes it an extremely good SOC for AI Processing. In fact, on the AI Benchmark, the Kirin 810 beats even the Snapdragon 855 Plus which is mind-blowing. It scores around 35,000 on AI Benchmark.
The MediaTek Helio G90T, on the other hand, scores around 12,500 on AI Benchmark so in terms of the AI performance, G90T is nowhere near the Kirin 810.
MEDIATEK HELIO G90T VS KIRIN 810 – CONCLUSION

Well, looking at the specifications & the benchmarks, the conclusion is simple. The Kirin 810 beats the MediaTek Helio G90T with ease when it comes to the CPU Performance, the AI Performance, & power efficiency. In fact, due to the 7nm architecture, the Kirin 810 is in a whole new league. It is a chip that’s comparable or even better than flagship SOCs in things like AI performance.
Now, MediaTek Helio G90T is not a weak SOC by any means. It is comparable to the Snapdragon 730 & even better than it in things like GPU Performance. But, if Huawei or Honor launches a phone with Kirin 810 at a price similar to a phone with Helio G90T, then it would be a better choice to go for the Kirin 810-powered device.
