We are still in Q3 2026, and while there are still some months to go for 2026 to end, we have already started getting leaks and rumors of the next year’s Samsung Galaxy S27 series. Today, we got the first look at the design of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, courtesy of Android Headlines and OnLeaks.

For some years now, we have seen the ‘Ultra’ phones from Samsung having a similar-looking design, especially the camera module design. But that is going to change next year, as the Galaxy S27 Ultra is coming with a new camera module design. As per the leak, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra has a camera island on the rear with at least three camera sensors.
This camera island spans the entire width of the device, but the cameras are there on the left side of it, so the right side seems to be empty. This is similar to what the iPhone 17 Pro series brought last year, but in the case of iPhones, there were sensors on both the left and right sides of the camera island.

Apart from the camera module design, the rest of the design seems unchanged, so there is a flat frame with a flat display on the front. The volume rockers are on the right side alongside the power button. There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom with the speaker grill and the S-Pen slot.
Speaking of the dimensions, they are reportedly 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97mm, which are almost similar to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The camera bump is pretty noticeable, and with it, the thickness is around 12.53mm.

One thing that various sources have reported is that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra won’t feature a 3x telephoto camera, which we have seen in past Ultra phones. So, the phone will have just one 5x telephoto camera instead of two.
That makes sense since with a 200MP sensor for the primary camera, the phone can take shots with almost the same quality as a dedicated 3x telephoto camera. Of course, the optical zoom is still going to be better than digital zoom, but we can expect close results due to Samsung’s image processing.
Well, we expect other phones under the S27 family to inherit a similar design change next year in the camera module on the back.
