Last month, Xiaomi 12 series went global with three phones named the Xiaomi 12X, 12, and 12 Pro. If you do not know, the series initially launched in China back in December last year. Now, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is going to launch in the Indian market as the company announced the launch date. The launch is taking place on the 27th of this month, which means we still have a couple of weeks left for the unveiling.
Design-wise, the Xiaomi 12 Pro comes in three colors, and all three have a matte glass back and a beautiful symmetrical camera module design. There is a curved display on the front, and the phone has stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon.
It packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC that is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The battery size is 4,600mAh, and the phone supports 120W fast wired charging + 50W fast wireless charging.
Speaking of the display, it is a 6.73-inch 10-bit LTPO (1Hz-120Hz) AMOLED with a Quad-HD+ resolution and Gorilla Glass Victus. The peak brightness of this panel is 1500 nits, and there is an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The hole punch on the top has a 32MP sensor for selfies.
The camera setup on the rear includes a primary 50MP 1/1.28” Sony IMX707 sensor with OIS, a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor for the ultrawide lens, and a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor for the telephoto lens. The telephoto lens has OIS too. The phone also supports 8K video recording.
Finally, MIUI 13 runs out of the box, which is based on Android 12.
We do not know at what price the phone will launch in India, but in the global market, Xiaomi 12 Pro starts at $999, which translates to around ₹76,000. But of course, since there are phones such as Realme GT 2 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro on the market, it would make sense if Xiaomi launches the 12 Pro at around ₹60,000.
