Release Date

Starting Price
₹49,999

In January this year, Realme GT 2 and GT 2 Pro went official in China, featuring Snapdragon 888 & Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 respectively. Today, Realme GT 2 Pro launched in India for a starting price of ₹49,999. Interestingly, for the same starting price, Motorola launched Edge 30 Pro in India, and that phone too features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC. But the GT 2 Pro seems like a much better deal based on the spec sheet alone.

Realme GT 2 Pro

As we know already, Realme GT 2 Pro has a unique “Paper Tech Master Design.” This is the first phone to feature a back panel made of ISCC-certified biopolymer. What this results in is a back panel with a paper-like feel. The phone also has the TCO 9.0 sustainability certification for its design and construction. Realme says that every million GT 2 Pros that are manufactured with Paper Tech design are equivalent to 3.5 million fewer plastic bottles being produced.

It is worth mentioning that only two out of three color options have this rear design. The third one has a normal matte glass back. The camera module design is similar to a lot of recently launched Realme phones. And since this is a premium flagship phone from the brand, it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.

There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res certification.

Realme GT 2 Pro

As for the front, Realme GT 2 Pro gets a flat panel with a hole punch cutout in the corner, and it is a high-end Quad-HD+ LTPO 2.0 120Hz 10-bitAMOLED with 1400 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Due to the LTPO 2.0 tech, the refresh-rate of this panel can go as low as 1Hz when needed. This results in up to 50% power savings. This panel also has the DisplayMate A+ rating and HDR10+ support.

Under the hood, there is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC, and for thermal management, the phone has a 4129 mm² stainless steel vapor chamber. This SOC has paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone has an X-axis linear motor which, Realme claims, has 40% higher volume, 80% higher energy capacity, and 30% lesser noise than the previous generation.

Realme GT 2 Pro

In terms of the cameras, Realme GT 2 Pro has three sensors on the rear, where the primary camera has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS, the ultrawide camera has a 50MP sensor & 150-degree FOV, and the macro camera has a 3MP sensor along with 40x magnification. For selfies, there is a 32MP camera. There is support for 8K 24fps video recording as well.

Finally, the phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 65W fast charging. Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 runs out of the box.

Realme GT 2 Pro comes in three colors named Paper Green, Paper White, and Steel Black. Here is the pricing –

  • 8GB + 128GB – ₹49,999
  • 12GB + 256GB – ₹57,999

If you use HDFC Credit and Debit cards, you can avail of an instant discount of ₹5000, which brings the starting price down to ₹44,999, which makes this phone a fantastic deal. You can buy the phone starting April 14th, and it will be available via Flipkart and Realme India’s website.
