iQOO 9 Pro is the newest premium flagship phone from the brand that comes with top-of-the-line hardware, including Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, 120W charging, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, curved display, E5 AMOLED, and more. It is the most expensive phone iQOO has launched in India so far as the price starts at ₹64,990. In our previous two posts, we talked about iQOO 9 SE and iQOO 9 in detail, but the 9 Pro is in a league of its own!
Design-wise, it comes in two finishes named Dark Cruise and Legend. The Legend finish has racetrack-inspired stripes on the back, whereas the Dark Cruise finish uses Aramid Fiber Material. Both phones have a large camera module that goes from one side to the other on the back. There is a triple camera setup in this camera module on the left side, and on the right, there is just some text related to camera specs.
There is a curved display on the front with a hole punch in the middle, and under this display is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Compared to an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, this one is faster because it uses high-frequency sound waves to map the user’s fingerprints. So, you do not need to apply pressure while using this scanner as you do in the case of optical scanners. Just a slight touch, and it will unlock. Moreover, the Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will even work with wet fingers because, unlike the optical one, it does not need to match the 2D image of your fingerprint. It is also more secure than the optical one.
Speaking of the panel, it is a 6.78-inch 3D curved E5 AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, LTPO 2.0, and Quad-HD+ resolution. The peak brightness of this panel is 1,500 nits, and it is a 10-bit panel. There is Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip under the hood that is the current flagship SOC from Qualcomm. It is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. iQOO 9 Pro has a 4,700mAh battery and 120W fast charging support. Moreover, the phone also supports 50W wireless charging. There is no IP68 rating.
There is a primary 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor on the back with Gimbal Stabilization, a 50MP secondary ultrawide camera with 150-degree FOV, and a 16MP portrait camera with a 60mm lens and OIS.
