Vivo X70, X70 Pro & X70 Pro+ launched in China

The main USP of these phones are the cameras!

The Vivo X60 series launched in December last year, and initially, only the X60 & X60 Pro launched in China. Later, Vivo also launched the X60 Pro+, which had the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SOC and a 50 Megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor. Today, Vivo launched the X70 series in China, and this series once again offers three phones under it – the Vivo X70, X70 Pro, and the X70 Pro+. All these phones come with ZEISS optics and have high-end chipsets.

Interestingly, these three phones have chips from three different companies. The vanilla X70 has the Dimensity 1200 by MediaTek, the X70 Pro has Exynos 1080 SOC by Samsung, and the X7 Pro+ has the Snapdragon 888+ by Qualcomm.

Starting off with the X70, since it is the cheapest phone among the three, it has a design that shows it. It is not boxy as the other two phones as the corners are more curved. There is a flat display on the front with a hole punch in the middle, and on the back, the phone has a triple camera setup placed in a rectangular camera island. There is also a triple flash module on the back. The camera module has the ZEISS branding too. The phone is quite thin at 7.55mm and is also not very heavy at 181g. You don’t get a headphone jack on this phone, so the only port that’s present is the Type-C port.

VIVO X70 PRO – DESIGN, SPECIFICATIONS & PRICING

Vivo X70 Pro

Next up, we have the X70 Pro, which doesn’t look much different compared to the X70, but it is boxier in terms of looks, and also, there is a curved display on the front instead of a flat panel. The camera module on the back has an extra camera as well, and this time, instead of a normal telephoto camera, the X70 Pro has a periscope camera offering more optical zoom. The color options remain the same as for the X70.

The display on the front is the same as on the X70 in terms of the specs, so the only difference is that it is curved on the sides. The chipset is the Exynos 1080 from Samsung, and this is the same chip that we saw powering the X60 Pro as well. It is based on the 5nm manufacturing process and offers an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.8GHz. While the RAM options are the same, the X70 Pro has LPDDR5 RAM, not LPDDR4X. Vivo X70 Pro+

Last, but not least, we have the Vivo X70 Pro+, which is Vivo’s highest-end flagship phone right now, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SOC. Design-wise as well, Vivo has tried to make this model way different than the other two. First of all, there are three color options, and all three have a leather-like finish on the back. Moreover, the camera module extends all the way to the other side, and that extended part has the texts “Pro+” and “Vivo | Zeiss Co-engineered.”

On the front, there is a curved display with a centered hole punch cutout. The phone is also IP68 rated for protection against dust and water.

Since it is an LTPO panel, the refresh rate can go as low a 1Hz and as high as 120Hz when needed. There is a peak brightness of 1,500 nits as well. There should not be any doubt that this is definitely one of the best displays ever seen on a smartphone, at least, that’s what the specifications of this display tell us.
