In December last year, the Redmi 12C was launched in China. In February this year, the phone was launched in the Indian market as the Poco C55. Interestingly, the phone has relaunched in the Indian market, this time under the Redmi brand.
Design-wise, the Redmi 12C is a different-looking phone than the Poco C55. The reason is the lack of any leather-like finish on the rear & the extended camera module, both of which are present on the Poco C55. But the 12C is unique in its way. The phone has a “Striped” design on the back which ensures a better grip & fewer fingerprints. The ports & button placement are the same as the Poco C55. This means the Redmi 12C has a micro-USB port.
The specifications are the same as well. The phone has a 6.71-inch LCD with a 720p resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 120Hz touch-sampling rate. A MediaTek Helio G85 SOC is under the hood, paired with 4GB or 6GB RAM & 64GB or 128GB storage. The dual camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor and a depth sensor. The selfie camera has a 5MP sensor. There is a 5,000mAh battery & the phone supports 10W charging. Finally, MIUI 13 runs out of the box, based on Android 12.
