Almost six months ago, Realme GT Neo launched in the Chinese market featuring the Dimensity 1200 5G SOC, a 120Hz AMOLED & 50W fast charging. Later, the phone was launched in the Indian market as the Realme X7 Max. Today, the company launched the successor in China, the Realme GT Neo 2. Speaking of the upgrades, the phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset this time, 65W fast charging, a 5,000mAh battery, and improved cooling as well.
Design-wise, the phone comes with a different camera module design on the back which is quite similar to that of the OnePlus 9 series. There is a triple camera setup on the back and two separate flash modules. The front remains the same as Realme GT Neo as there is a flat display with a hole punch on the top left corner. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack which is weird since Realme boasted how the company did not ditch the headphone jack when the Realme X7 Max was launched in India.
Speaking of the screen on the front, there is a 6.62-inch Full-HD+ Samsung’s E4 AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1300 nits of brightness. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G SOC which is paired with 6/8/12GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The triple camera setup on the rear includes a primary 64-megapixel camera, a secondary 8 -megapixel ultrawide, and a third 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a 16 Megapixel selfie camera.
Realme GT Neo 2 has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 65W fast charging. In fact, this is Realme’s first phone that comes with a combination of 5,000mAh and 65W charging. Android 11 runs out of the box, and Realme UI 2.0 runs on top. The phone also has stereo speakers.
Speaking of pricing and availability, the phone comes in three colors – Green, Grey, and Blue. Here is the pricing for the Chinese market –
- 8GB + 128GB – ¥2499 ($386)
- 8GB + 256GB – ¥2699 ($417)
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥2999 ($464)
The first sale in China takes place on the 27th of September. The phone will launch outside China soon, but the exact date is unknown.
