Last month, the Realme GT Neo 2 smartphone launched in China featuring the Snapdragon 870 chip & a 120Hz Samsung’s E4 AMOLED panel. Today, that phone made its way to the Indian market, and Realme has surprised everyone with the pricing. While the actual price starts at ₹31,999, Realme is offering a discount of ₹7000 under the Festive offer, which brings the starting price down to ₹24,999. This eventually makes this the cheapest Qualcomm Snapdragon 870-powered smartphone in India!
Design-wise, the phone comes with a Matte glass back, and there is also a Neo Green color option that looks quite unique. Apart from this color, the phone comes in Black & Blue as well, both of which do not have a lot of text printed on the back as in the case of the Neo Green version. The camera module looks quite different than what we have seen on previous Realme phones as there are two big camera lenses and two separate LED flash modules.
The GT Neo 2 misses out on the 3.5mm headphone jack, so all that you get is a Type-C port on the bottom. There are stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos. Realme also says that there is a new X-axis linear motor that improves the haptics.
Speaking of the similarities between the Realme GT Neo 2 & Realme GT Neo (also called Realme X7 Max in India), there is the same camera setup. So, there is a 64MP primary rear camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, you get a 16MP camera on the front.
Speaking of the front, Realme GT Neo 2 has a 6.62-inch Samsung’s E4 AMOLED panel with a Full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness offered by this panel is 1,300 nits, and there is also up to 600Hz touch-sampling rate. In short, this is one of the best displays that you can find on a smartphone at this price.
Under the hood, the phone gets Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G SOC which, as we know, is a very powerful as well as stable chip from Qualcomm with no issue with thermals as in the case of the Snapdragon 888 and 888 Plus. Realme has also used the Stainless Steel Vapour Cooling Plus cooling system in this phone. This includes the largest vapor chamber that Realme has ever put in a phone.
Another upgrade comes in the battery. While Realme GT Neo had a 4,500mAh cell, the GT Neo 2 has a 5,000mAh battery. On top of that, there is support for 65W fast charging. And yes, you get a 65W adapter in the box itself. Finally, Realme UI 2.0 runs out of the box, which is based on Android 11.
Finally, coming to the pricing and availability, Realme GT Neo 2 comes in three colors named Neo Green, Neo Black & Neo Blue. There are two storage options, and here is the pricing –
- 8GB + 128GB – ₹31,999
- 12GB + 256GB – ₹35,999
The sale begins on the 16th of this month for Flipkart Plus members. For the rest, it begins on the 16th, and you can also get the phone via Realme’s website & the company’s offline stores. The company is offering a Special Festive discount of ₹7000 so you can get the phone for as low as ₹24,999!
