Poco X3 NFC launched with Snapdragon 732G & 120Hz Display

In February this year, Poco made a comeback with the Poco X2, which was a rebranded Redmi K30 4G for markets like India. It launched at a price of Rs 15,999 & even after an increase in the price, it is still one of the best phones under Rs 20,000 in the Indian market.

Seven months after the launch of the X2, we got the Poco X3 NFC today, which comes with a new design, newer & more powerful SOC, a bigger battery, Stereo Speakers & more, all for a starting price of EUR 229 ($270 | Rs 19,900).

POCO X3 NFC – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

There is a new design on the front as well as on the back when compared to the Poco X2. So, there is no longer the pill-shaped cutout on the front for dual selfie cameras as it is replaced with a single tiny hole-punch cutout in the middle. On the back, there is now a unique design for the Quad camera setup. The ‘POCO’ branding on the back is also different this time as it is now bigger.

There is no change in the buttons or ports. The Poco X3 has a side-facing fingerprint scanner that doubles as the power button. The USB Type-C Port & the 3.5mm headphone jack is there on the bottom.

This time, Poco went for a stereo speaker setup on the X3, which is definitely a big upgrade from the single speaker on the Poco X2. There is a Z-Axis Linear Motor for better haptic feedback & the phone comes with LiquidCool Technology 1.0 Plus that includes Multi-layer graphite & a LiquidCool heat pipe for better cooling.

Poco X3 NFC has the same 6.67-inch Full-HD+ 120Hz LCD as on the Poco X2 & the panel comes with 240Hz touch-sampling-rate. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, HDR10, Widevine L1 & TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification.

The chipset is the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G, which, if you don’t know, is the fastest Snapdragon 700-series 4G chipset. The Adreno 618 GPU offers 15% better GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 730G. The Prime core of the Kryo 470 CPU is clocked slightly higher at 2.3GHz (compared to 2.2GHz for the Snapdragon 730G). Poco X3 NFC comes with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM paired with either 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

The Quad camera setup on the rear includes a primary 64 Megapixel camera with the Sony IMX682 sensor, a secondary 13 Megapixel Ultra-Wide-Angle camera, a 2 Megapixel Macro & a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. So, compared to the Poco X2, the Poco X3 has a slightly downgraded primary sensor (IMX682 vs. IMX686) & an upgraded ultrawide camera (13MP vs. 8MP).

The downgrade in the primary camera isn’t that significant as the IMX682 differs from IMX686 only in terms of video recording. Sony IMX686 supports 4K 60fps video recording, whereas the IMX682 supports 4K 30fps video recording.

On the front, Poco X3 has a 20 Megapixel camera.

Finally, there is a huge 5,160mAh battery inside & the phone also supports 33W Fast Charging. You get the 33W Adapter in the box itself, so that’s great. As per Poco, the battery can be charged up to 62% in just 30 minutes & 100% in 65 minutes with the provided Adapter.

Some other features include Quad Antennas for better signal reception, Game Turbo 3.0, IP53 splash-proof protection, Video Pro Mode, MIUI 12 with Poco Launcher 2.0, IR Blaster, NFC, etc.
