The Google Pixel 10a was launched earlier this year, and it was quite an underwhelming launch from Google, primarily due to the same Google Tensor G4 chipset as last year’s Pixel 9a. The phone also had the same camera setup as the Pixel 9a and the same battery size. The upgrades included faster charging, a brighter display, and better Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front.
Well, the Google Pixel 11a is going to be different because, as per the latest leak, Google is going for a powerful chipset for its next mid-ranger.
According to the source, the Google Pixel 11a is codenamed ‘Formosan,’ and it will be powered by the Google Tensor G6 chipset (codenamed ‘Malibu’). There will also be the Titan M3 security chip inside this device. The Tensor G6 chipset that is going to power the Pixel 11a will feature the MediaTek M90 modem and a PowerVR C-Series CXTP-48-1536 GPU. If you do not know, the Google Tensor G6 is the same chip that is going to power the upcoming Google Pixel 11 series, set to launch on August 12.
Speaking of other specifications, the Google Pixel 11a has a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ 120Hz OLED panel with up to 2250 nits of HDR brightness and 3350 nits of peak brightness. So, while the display size and resolution remain unchanged, the brightness has increased over the Pixel 10a’s panel. The phone will feature 8GB of RAM.
In terms of the cameras, the source says the front camera is upgraded, but all we know so far is the codename of this new front camera sensor, which is ‘dokkaebi.’
Finally, the source claims the Pixel 11a has a minimal battery capacity of 4,870mAh. This means we should see the same 5,100mAh typical rated capacity as the Pixel 10a’s battery.
The source even shared that the Pixel 12a is codenamed ‘marmoset.’
The Pixel 11a is set to launch in Black, Green, Purple, and Silver colors. As always, Google will have its own names for these colors, which are Obsidian, Olive, Frost, and Fog.
