A few days ago, Redmi 12 5G was launched in the Indian market as the first smartphone in India with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. The price starts at ₹11,999, and the phone has a glass back, a 5,000mAh battery, a 90Hz display, a 50MP camera, and more. Today, Poco M6 Pro 5G was launched in India, and it is the same phone as the Redmi 12 5G, but with a different branding and rear design.
Poco M6 Pro 5G comes in Power Black & Forest Green colors. There is Poco’s trademark two-tone design on the back. The phone is 8.17mm thin and has Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the front and back. There is an IP53 rating, an IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Type-C port.
The specifications remain unchanged compared to the Redmi 12 5G. So, we have a 6.79-inch 90Hz LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery, 50MP + 2MP dual camera setup, an 8MP selfie camera, 18W fast charging, and Android 13-based MIUI 14. The phone will get two major Android updates.
Poco, as always, has priced its phone lower than its Redmi counterpart. Poco M6 Pro 5G comes in two storage options, and here is the pricing –
- 4GB + 64GB – ₹10,999
- 6GB + 128GB – ₹12,999
The Redmi 12 5G’s base variant has 128GB storage. So, while the Poco M6 Pro starts at a lower price, you also get half the storage. The Redmi 12 5G also has an 8GB + 256GB variant, but there is no such configuration for the M6 Pro 5G. The phone is available via Flipkart, and you get ₹1000 off on ICICI Bank credit/debit cards and EMI transactions. This brings the starting price down to ₹9,999,
The sale starts on August 9.
