Earlier this year, the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V were officially launched in China. The OnePlus Turbo 6 was later rebranded as the OnePlus Nord 6 for the global market with a few changes in specifications. Similarly, the OnePlus Turbo 6V was rebranded as the OnePlus Nord CE 6. Well, two more smartphones are now set to launch under the Turbo 6 series in China, named the OnePlus Turbo 6X and OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro. Now these two are not going to be high-end phones like the Turbo 6. Instead, these are budget and mid-range smartphones, respectively.
While the official launch date has not yet been shared by the brand, the launch is happening next week.
OnePlus has shared the official images of both phones, so speaking of the design, the OnePlus Turbo 6X has a design similar to last year’s OnePlus Nord 5. There is a vertical camera array on the rear, and since it is a budget smartphone, there is a plastic build. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super chipset, and there is 8GB or 12GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage. The battery is 7,000mAh, and the phone has an LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.
The OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro is a slightly more feature-packed version with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Super chipset, an 8,000mAh battery, and a 1.5K flat AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. Design-wise, the Turbo 6X Pro looks similar to the OnePlus Turbo 6. There is 8GB or 12GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage. The phone is IP66/68/69/69K-certified.
Both phones are said to have a 50MP sensor for the primary rear camera, but the Turbo 6X is expected to have a useless 2MP sensor for the secondary camera, while the Turbo 6X Pro should have an 8MP ultrawide.
It is not yet known whether OnePlus has plans to launch these phones outside the Chinese market. If the brand does, it would be interesting to see with what names these phones are launched outside China, since we already have the Nord 6, Nord CE 6, and Nord CE 6 Lite in the global market.
