MediaTek Dimensity 7500 is now official with ARM C1 cores

This is the successor to Dimensity 7400 series chipsets!

The MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset is now official, and as the name suggests, this is the upgraded version of the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, which we have seen in a lot of devices. The 7000 series from MediaTek includes mid-range chipsets with the main focus on having a good balance of performance and efficiency. The Dimensity 7500 is no exception, and while there isn’t a massive improvement over the 7400, there are still some notable upgrades.

MediaTek Dimensity 7500

Starting with the manufacturing process, the chip is built on the 4nm process, just like its predecessor. In terms of the CPU, there is a big upgrade as the chip uses the ARM C1-series cores. There is an octa-core CPU with four ARM C1-Pro cores clocked at up to 2.6GHz, and four ARM C1-Nano cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. There is an ARM Mali-G625 MC2 GPU. MediaTek claims up to 68% faster video transcoding, up to 40% faster file transfer performance, up to 30% faster app switching, up to 19% faster game level load times, up to 11% faster app installs, and up to 11% faster cold app launch.

The chipset comes with the MediaTek NPU 850. There is support for LPDDR5 RAM and 2-lane UFS 3.1 storage. The chip also supports 1.5K displays with up to 144Hz refresh rates. There is a 3GPP R17 5G Modem, which can use  57% more bandwidth as compared to the R16 modem in the MediaTek Dimensity 7400.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7500 features the Imagiq 1050 ISP versus the Imagiq 950 ISP in the Dimensity 7400.

Well, we should start seeing smartphones launching with the Dimensity 7500 chipset soon.
