Today, Oppo launched its premium flagships in China, Find X7 & Find X7 Ultra. We discussed the Find X7 in our previous article, but while the X7 is a great phone on paper, the star of the show is the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. The Find X7 Ultra has probably the most ridiculous camera configuration on paper.
Design-wise, it looks identical to the Find X7, with two main differences. First, the camera module is bigger because it has better sensors. Second, all three color options have a two-tone design with glass and vegan leather. The rest of the design is the same.
Since the cameras are the main USP of this phone, let’s talk about them first. The Oppo Find X7 Ultra has four cameras on the rear. Out of four, two have periscope telephoto lenses. This makes it the world’s first smartphone with a dual periscope camera setup.
The primary camera on the rear has a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor with an f/1.8 lens and OIS. The ultrawide/macro camera has a 1/1.95-inch 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with a 123-degree FOV lens. The third camera has a periscope lens and uses a 1/1.56-inch 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with a 3x optical zoom lens with an f/2.6 aperture. Finally, there is a fourth camera with a periscope lens, using a 1/2.51-inch 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor with a 6x optical zoom lens.
There is OIS for all the cameras, except for the ultrawide camera.
The selfie camera has a 32MP sensor.
There is support for 4K 60fps video recording from all the cameras on the phone, including the selfie camera. The phone can shoot 4K Dolby Vision HDR videos and supports 16-bit RAW.
The display size is 6.82-inch and this is a Quad-HD+ LTPO OLED panel with 4,500 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and a 1-120Hz refresh rate.
The Oppo Find X7 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC and a large 5,100mAh battery. There is 100W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. The phone is IP68 certified.
