The Oppo Find X was one of the most beautiful phones of 2018 & it was appreciated for its bezel-less design & pop-up mechanism for the cameras. In 2019 we didn’t get a successor to the Find X, but it is happening this year. It is rumoured that the Oppo Find X2 launch is happening in Q1 2020, but there is still no word from the company that can confirm this.
Anyways, some camera details & other specifications have surfaced on Weibo today & in this article, let’s talk about them in detail.
As per a user on Weibo, Oppo Find X2 features a Quad-HD+ display with a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels. The display features 120Hz refresh rate & 240Hz touch sampling rate. Also, the display curved on the sides, but it isn’t a 90-degree curve since it is around 80-degrees.
The Find X2 uses an independent display chip that is used to implement MEMC technology that we see on high-end TVs. Since OnePlus recently showcased its 120Hz display tech with a custom MEMC chip, we guess the same tech is used in the display of Find X2.
Coming to the camera details, Oppo & Sony have developed a custom 48 Megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor & it is a 1/1.3 inches sensor that’s bigger than the 1/1.75-inch IMX600 sensor present on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro of last year. There is also a technology called “Omni-directional autofocus” which is said to be better than the Dual-Pixel Autofocus.
There are triple cameras on the back, so the secondary camera is an Ultra-Wide-Angle lens with Sony IMX708 sensor
(40MP?) & there is a third 13 Megapixel telephoto lens with 5X Hybrid Zoom. There is a 32MP selfie camera with Sony IMX616 sensor. This is the same camera sensor that’s present on the Huawei Mate 30 Porsche Edition.
Finally, alongside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SOC, there is also Oppo M1 co-processor which will reduce the load on the Snapdragon 865 when needed.
Well, the Find X2 is expected to feature an in-display selfie camera as well so let’s see what we will get to see. In short, the Oppo Find X2 is shaping up to be an impressive smartphone of 2020 with innovative technologies.
