Last month, the OnePlus Ace was launched in China as the first phone under the new ‘Ace’ series and the first OnePlus phone with 150W fast charging. Now, the company is preparing for another phone under this series, named the OnePlus Ace Speed Edition. While the name makes us believe that this will be an even more powerful phone than the Ace, that’s not the case. The Speed Edition is a toned-down version of the OnePlus Ace.
Design-wise, the OnePlus Ace Speed Edition looks completely different than the OnePlus Ace. It looks more like the OnePlus 10 Pro, at least from the back, since the camera module design is similar. And that’s where the similarities end because apart from the camera module, it looks like any other mid-range phone of 2022.
It has a flat panel with a hole punch in the corner and a noticeable bottom chin. The fingerprint scanner is present on the side and not under the display.
The official images reveal that the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, so that’s interesting.
So far, we know that the phone has a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SOC, a 64MP primary rear camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 6.59-inch high refresh-rate LCD.
We do not know the full spec sheet or the price yet, but as per Digital Chat Station, the price will be in the 2000 Yuan price range, which is around $300.
