UPDATE (MARCH 26) – @ONLEAKS has shared the official press render of OnePlus 8 Pro with folks over at iGeeksBlog.
While OnePlus has not yet announced the launch date of the OnePlus 8 Series, there are already reports of the launch taking place in April. We already know how the OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro look like since the CAD renders leaked last year. In fact, there is also the OnePlus 8 Lite that’s launching as a mid-range device from the brand.
Anyways, the major specifications of the OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro were shared by Ishan Agarwal on Twitter so now we also know the key specs of both the flagships.
The OnePlus 8 features a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate & there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G SOC with 8/12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.0 storage. On the rear, the phone has a triple camera setup & it includes a primary 48 Megapixel camera paired with 16 Megapixel (UltraWide?) & 2 Megapixel cameras.
So, it seems like there is no telephoto lens as that has been replaced by a 2MP camera which is most probably a depth sensor (or a macro lens). There is a 16MP selfie camera.
Finally, the phone has a 4,300mAh battery & 30W Warp Charge 30T. There is no IP rating nor wireless charging for the vanilla OnePlus 8.
The OnePlus 8 Pro is the true flagship from the brand featuring IP68 rating & 30W Fast Wireless Charging + 3W Reverse Wireless Charging. It has a bigger 6.78-inch Quad-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a higher 120Hz refresh rate. There is also 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM & 128/256GB UFS 3.0 storage.
On the rear, there are quad cameras that include a primary 48-megapixel camera, a secondary 48 Megapixel camera, a third 8 Megapixel camera & a fourth 5 Megapixel camera. This camera setup is somewhat similar to that of Oppo Find X2 Pro that also has dual 48MP cameras.
Assuming that these two 48MP cameras are the same on both phones, the OnePlus 8 Pro has a primary 48MP camera with OIS & a secondary 48 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The 8MP camera is definitely a telephoto lens with 3X Optical Zoom.
Finally, there is a 16MP selfie camera, a big 4,510mAh battery & 30W Warp Charge 30T support.
