Motorola is on a launch spree at the moment in the Indian market as the company is launching new phones under its ‘G’ series every month. It started with the Moto G31 that launched in November last year, then the Moto G51 in December, and now, we got the Moto G71 in India, almost two months after its initial global launch. The main USP of G71 is the Snapdragon 695 5G SOC, the fastest Snapdragon 600 series SOC currently by Qualcomm.

Moto G71

Design-wise, the G71 is not much different than the G51. The build is still all plastic, and there is a similar-looking camera module. The only difference is that the back has a glossy finish and not a matte finish. Also, the fingerprint scanner is on the rear and not on the side as on the Moto G51. There are three buttons on the right side, so we have a power button (textured), volume rockers, and the Google Assistant button. The phone lacks a stereo speaker setup, so all that you are getting is a single bottom-firing speaker. There is a USB Type-C port alongside the 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom.

Coming to the specs, the Moto G71 has a 6.4-inch display, and it is a 60Hz AMOLED with a Full-HD+ resolution. There is Snapdragon 695 5G SOC under the hood paired with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB uMCP storage.

Speaking of this SOC, it is built on the 6nm process and has an Adreno 619 GPU with a frequency of 975MHz. There is an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz. Now, you may think that for a price of ₹18,999, a Snapdragon 600 series SOC seems like a bad deal. But, do not go by the name because this SOC is better than some Snapdragon 700 series SOCs such as the Snapdragon 732G, which powers the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Pro Max.

Like the Moto G51, there is support for a lot of 5G bands, 13 to be precise.

Moto G71

As for the cameras, there are three cameras on the back where the primary shooter houses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens, the secondary ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor, and finally, there is a third 2MP macro camera. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera. Finally, the phone has a 5,000mAh battery inside and supports 33W fast charging. And yes, you get the 33W adapter in the box.

And because it is a Motorola phone, you get a Stock Android experience. Weirdly, we are in 2022, and the Moto G71 still runs Android 11 out of the box.

In India, Moto G71 comes in only one storage option – 6GB + 128GB. The price is ₹18,999, and you can get it via Flipkart, starting January 19.
