Moto G62 to feature Snapdragon 480+ & a 120Hz display

The price is expected to be around or under €300

The Moto G series is getting new phones almost every month this year, and the current month is not going to be an exception. We have already got the leaks regarding the Moto G42 & today, we got the specifications & design details of another upcoming phone under this series, the Moto G62. These details were shared by WinFuture, and the G62 is going to be a 5G phone, unlike the recently launched Moto G52 & the upcoming Moto G42.

Motorola has kept the design of the G62 the same as other phones under the Moto G series. So, there is a display with a hole punch in the center and a triple camera setup on the rear. The Motorola logo is in the center on the back. So design-wise, it is not possible to differentiate this phone from other Moto G series devices such as the Moto G52.

There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as the power button, and the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom. We hope this phone has stereo speakers since those are present on the Moto G52.

In terms of specs, Moto G62 is powered by the Snapdragon 480 Plus SOC. This is the same chip that powered the Moto G51 last year. It is a 5G SOC, and before assuming it to be an entry-level chipset due to its name, it is worth mentioning that this SOC rivals the Snapdragon 720G or even the Snapdragon 732G in terms of performance. The base variant of the phone has 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage is also expandable via a microSD card.

Moto G62 has a 6.5-inch 120Hz display, and while we are not yet sure about the panel type, it is most probably a P-OLED panel, similar to what we get on the Moto G52. But then again, since it is a 5G phone, companies tend to compromise areas like the display by offering an LCD instead of an OLED.

There are three cameras on the rear where the primary camera has a 50MP sensor without OIS, the secondary ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor, and the third camera has a 2MP sensor. So, the camera setup remains the same as Moto G52. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera. There is a large 5,000mAh battery, and Android 12 runs out of the box.

Speaking of the price, we don’t have the exact number, but since the Moto G82 is priced at €329 in Europe, the Moto G62 is launching for under €300.
