The Moto G53 was launched in January, featuring the Snapdragon 480+ chipset, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 120Hz LCD. The company is already preparing to launch its successor, the Moto G54. The official renders of the phone were shared by Evan Blass, giving us our first look at the design. In our previous article, we discussed the design of the Moto G84 since the phone’s renders were also shared by the same source.
The Moto G54 has more or less the same design as the Moto G53, with some little tweaks. The camera module is still square-shaped and has a dual camera setup, but the LED flash placement has changed slightly. The camera module says “50MP”, “OIS,” and “Quad Pixel,” suggesting that the primary camera has a 50MP sensor with OIS support. This would make it the first phone under the Moto G5x series featuring OIS.
Unlike the Moto G84, there is no Viva Magenta color option for the Moto G54.
As per reports, there are four color options, officially named Outer Space, Coronet Blue, Ambrosia, and Ballad Blue. All these are Pantone color names, which is unsurprising since Motorola has partnered with Pantone. But, unlike the G84, no “Pantone” branding exists on any of the renders.
The phone has a flat panel on the front with a hole punch cutout in the middle. There is quite a prominent bottom chin, which could hint that the phone has an LCD, not an OLED. This was the case with the Moto G53 as well. The fingerprint scanner, in that scenario, would be on the side.
Finally, speaking of the specifications, all that we know so far is the battery capacity. As per FCC, the rated battery capacity is 5640mAh, so the typical capacity should be 6,000mAh. The phone supports 20W fast charging.
