MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ to be unveiled on May 7

Vivo X100s will be the first to launch with this chipset

In November last year, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 was officially announced as the first smartphone SOC with an “all-big core” CPU. In simple words, the Dimensity 9300 features a CPU with all performance-centric cores (4x Cortex-X4 + 4x Cortex-A720). Six months after the announcement, the brand is now all set to launch the upgrade, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. MediaTek has announced that it will unveil the chipset on May 7 in China at the company’s MDDC (MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference) 2024 event.

While the official unveiling is still a week away, we already know the specifications of this chipset, thanks to Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ has the same CPU configuration, so there are four Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores. The upgrade is in the clock speed. One of the four Cortex-X4 cores is now clocked at 3.4GHz, versus 3.25GHz. The rest of the Cortex-X4 cores are still clocked at 2.85GHz and the four Cortex-A720 cores are at 2.0GHz.

The result of this upgrade is an AnTuTu score of over 2.3 Million points. On Geekbench, the single-core score is over 2300, and the multi-core score of over 7700. For comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset scores over 2.2 Million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, around 2200 on single-core and 7200 on multi-core.
