Honor 8A – Here are the official press renders & pricing details

Xiaomi and Honor are the two brands known for launching phones with incredible value for money. Last year, Honor launched some really good phones like the Honor 8X, Honor Play, etc. and this year, the company is ready to disrupt the smartphone market again. The Honor 8A is a budget phone from the company that is launching this month, and the folks at DroidShout were able to get the official press renders of the device, the spec sheet, and the pricing details.

Talking about the design first, there is nothing unique as it is a budget phone. Still, there is a waterdrop notch on the top and a big chin on the bottom that has the Honor branding. On the back, there is a single camera and the LED flash. You will notice that there is no fingerprint scanner on the back or the front, so it will be safe to assume that the phone only has Face Unlock for unlocking the phone.

Coming to the specifications, the Honor 8A has a 6.09-inch HD+ display (1560×720 pixels) with a pixel density of 283PPI. The processor powering the 8A is the MediaTek Helio P35, and this is the same chipset that powers the recently announced Xiaomi Mi Play. So, you can say that this is a competitor to the Mi Play. The phone has 3GB RAM and 32/64GB internal storage.

It is a successor to the Honor 7A, but unlike the 7A, there is a single camera on the back that is a 13MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture. On the front, the phone has an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The battery underneath is a 3,020mAH unit, and there is, for sure, a micro USB port for charging. Finally, EMUI 9 runs out of the box.

As the renders above suggest, the Honor 8A will launch in atleast four colors that include Red, Gold, Black, and Blue. Talking about the pricing, the 3GB + 32GB variant is launching at CNY 799 ($116) and the 3GB + 64GB variant at CNY 999 ($145). FYI, the Xiaomi Mi Play launched in China this month at CNY 1,099 or $160. What is your take on the specs and the pricing? Do let us know via the comments section.
