Honor 30 officially confirmed to feature Kirin 985 SOC

A few days back, the Kirin 985 SOC was spotted on AI Benchmark, and a leak also suggested one of the Honor 30 Series phones featuring this new SOC from Huawei. Well, Honor has now officially confirmed that the Honor 30 is indeed coming with this SOC. Not only this, but the company also confirmed that the Honor 30 Pro has the Kirin 990 5G SOC.

This now means that the Honor 30 Series smartphones feature three different 5G SOCs – Kirin 820 in the Honor 30S, Kirin 985 SOC in the Honor 30, and Kirin 990 5G in the Honor 30 Pro. The Honor 30S is already official as the phone launched in March in China.

We know already that both the Honor 30 & Honor 30 Pro come with a 6.57-inch OLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution and a 4,000mAh battery. The Honor 30 comes with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage, whereas the Honor 30 Pro comes with 8/12GB RAM and 128/256GB storage.

The biggest difference is in the camera department. The Honor 30 features a 40 Megapixel primary rear camera, whereas the Honor 30 Pro gets a 50 Megapixel Sony IMX700 sensor, which is the same camera sensor present on the Huawei P40 series. Both phones have a 32 Megapixel selfie camera.

Honor 30 and Honor 30 Pro are launching on April 15th in China.
