Google Pixel 9a full specifications and price leaked

Same price, better specifications!

In October, the renders of the Google Pixel 9a revealed the design of Google’s budget Pixel phone of 2025. The phone will feature a rounded design language as the more expensive Pixel 9 series phones, but there won’t be the same camera module design on the back. In the same month, we also got a leak suggesting that the Pixel 9a will feature a 1/2.0″ 48MP sensor for the primary rear camera versus a 1/1.73″ 64MP sensor on the Pixel 8a.

Today, the full specifications of the Pixel 9a were shared by AndroidHeadlines along with the pricing and color options.

Google Pixel 9a

The Google Pixel 9a has a 6.285-inch OLED display with 2700 nits peak brightness (1800 nits HDR brightness), up to a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ with Netflix certification, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and a Full-HD+ resolution. For comparison, the Google Pixel 8a featured a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with 2000 nits peak brightness. So, the panel has a higher brightness this time.

The chipset is the Google Tensor G4, and there is 8GB LPDDR5X RAM with 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is coming with Android 15 and will get seven OS updates.

Speaking of cameras, there are two cameras on the rear. The primary camera has a 1/1.95″ 48MP Samsung GN8 sensor with an f/1.7 lens and OIS. The ultrawide camera has a 13MP Sony IMX712 sensor with an f/2.2 lens. The selfie shooter uses the same 13MP Sony IMX712 sensor. Compared to the Google Pixel 8a, the only change this time is the primary camera sensor. The Pixel 8a had a 1/1.73″ 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor, meaning the sensor size is smaller this time.

One big upgrade is the battery. The Google Pixel 9a features a 5,100mAh battery versus a 4,492mAh battery in the Pixel 8a. The wired charging speed is upgraded to 23W versus 18W. There is 7.5W wireless charging. The phone is IP68-certified and has a Goodix G7 optical fingerprint scanner under the display.

The phone has a metal frame, and despite having a bigger battery, the thickness is the same i.e., 8.9mm. The device weighs 185.9g, meaning it is lighter than the 189g Pixel 8a.

The Google Pixel 9a is launching in three colors – Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony. The starting price will be $499, the same as the Pixel 8a.
