Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G launched at MWC with Snapdragon 855

In October last year, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was launched with a beautiful design, high-end specs, and a slider. Today, at the MWC Barcelona, Xiaomi announced the 5G version of it with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G is now official, and there is no difference in terms of the design. The only major difference, as the name shows, is the 5G support, thanks to the X50 5G Modem and 7nm Snapdragon 855 processor.

As we said, the Mi Mix 3 5G has the same design as last year’s Mix 3, and hence, it still has a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The company could’ve gone for an in-screen fingerprint scanner like the Xiaomi Mi 9, but Xiaomi decided to work only on the 5G support.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G has a 6.39-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with no notch or cutout and a magnetic slider for the front cameras and the earpiece. There are dual cameras on the rear which remain the same as the regular Mi Mix 3.

So, there is a primary 12MP Sony IMX 363 with 1.4-micron pixel size and Dual Pixel AF, along with a 12MP secondary telephoto camera with 2X Optical Zoom. The camera can shoot 960fps super slow motion videos, and the primary rear camera also has OIS for stable footage. There are dual cameras on the front as well that include 24MP IMX 576 + 2MP cameras.

Both the rear and front cameras have got a lot of AI features as well.

The biggest change, when compared to the regular Mi Mix 3, is that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G has 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with the Snapdragon X50 Modem. This means that it supports 5G network which makes it one of the first phones to have 5G support.

There is a 3,200mAH battery underneath, and the device also supports Wireless Charging.
