The Samsung Galaxy F22 is now official in the Indian market & pricing-wise, this phone sits between the Galaxy F12 & the Galaxy F41. The price starts at Rs 12,499 & for that price, this phone offers a 90Hz Super AMOLED panel, a massive 6,000mAh battery, MediaTek Helio G80 chipset & OneUI 3.1. So all these features do sound really good for the price.
Design-wise, the Galaxy F22 comes with a polycarbonate build & has a textured back panel for better grip & lesser fingerprints. There is a Quad camera array placed in a square-shaped camera module & on the front, the phone has a U-shaped notch where the selfie camera is placed. The fingerprint scanner sits on the right side.
The USB Type-C port is present on the bottom alongside the headphone jack & the speaker grill.
The panel on the front is a 90Hz Super AMOLED which sounds impressive at this price but do note that the resolution is 720p. Still, if you are getting a Super AMOLED panel at this price and that too, with a 90Hz refresh rate, then for once, we can ignore the fact that there is a 720p resolution. Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy F22 gets the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset that packs an octa-core CPU.
Camera-wise, the Galaxy F22 has a quad-camera setup on the rear that includes a primary 48 Megapixel sensor paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide unit & two 2 Megapixel cameras. Samsung says the primary sensor is a “True 48MP sensor,” so it seems like just as in the case of the Galaxy F12, there is a 48 Megapixel Samsung’s ISOCEL LGM2 sensor on the F22. For selfies, you get a 13 Megapixel camera.
Just like the Galaxy F12 & the Galaxy F41, there is a massive 6,000mAh battery inside that can be charged quickly via the provided 15W adapter. Out of the box, this phone runs on OneUI 3.1 core which is Android 11-based.
The Samsung Galaxy F22 comes in two colors named Denim Black & Denim Blue. There are two storage options & here is the pricing for India –
- 4GB + 64GB – Rs 12,499
- 6GB + 128GB – Rs 14,499
It is worth mentioning that for the same price as that of the 6GB variant, you get the Galaxy F41 (6GB + 128GB). That phone gets an Exynos 9611 SOC, a 64MP camera, & a Full-HD+ Super AMOLED panel (not 90Hz). So we wonder why someone would spend the same amount on the Galaxy F22.
Samsung also offers a Rs 1,000 discount on prepaid transactions, but this discount is valid for a limited time. This brings down the starting price down to Rs 11,499. The sale is set to take place on Flipkart and on Samsung’s official website on the 13th of July.
