After launching the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G in India as the Xiaomi Mi 10i, the company launched the Redmi Note 9 5G outside China today as the Redmi Note 9T. If you don’t know, the Note 9 5G & Note 9 Pro 5G launched in China last year in November, and they are the first 5G phones under the “Note” series. Note 9T is the same phone as the Redmi Note 9 5G, but there are some slight changes here and there. The “early bird” starting price of the phone is €199, and for this price, the phone offers a 5G SOC, a 60Hz LCD, 48 Megapixel triple camera setup on the rear, and a 5,000mAh battery.
It is a budget offering from the brand hence comes with a polycarbonate back panel that has a textured finish, so it helps in reducing the fingerprints. There is a circular camera module that has the triple camera setup and the LED flash in it. The fingerprint scanner is there on the right side and doubles as the power button. On the front, Redmi Note 9T has a display with a single hole-punch cutout on the top left corner. The USB Type-C port is present on the bottom along with the headphone jack, and there are stereo speakers.
Speaking of that display, it is a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ LCD with a 60Hz refresh rate, so it isn’t a high-refresh-rate panel. There is MediTek Dimensity 800U SOC under the hood, which comes with an integrated 5G model, which means the device supports 5G. In fact, it supports dual SIM dual 5G, so that’s great. This SOC is paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM & 64GB (UFS 2.1) or 128GB (UFS 2.2) storage.
There is a big 5,000mAh battery, and the phone supports 18W fast charging. In the box, you get a 22.5W adapter.
Speaking of the cameras, Redmi Note 9T has three shooters on the rear that include a primary 48 Megapixel camera with f/1.79 aperture, a secondary 2 Megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It is a shame that there is no ultrawide camera that is present on the Chinese variant. On the front, there is a 13 Megapixel camera.
Finally, MIUI 12 runs out of the box, which is based on Android 10.
