Redmi Note 8 in the works, expected to launch soon

The Redmi Note 7 & Note 7 Pro launched in January in China & even today, they are among the best budget smartphones. These phones were different than the previous Note devices in the sense that for the first time, we got the premium glass back & USB Type-C port on “Note” series phones.

Now, if you don’t know, Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 5 Pro & Note 6 Pro in the same year & same is expected to be the case this year, i.e., the Redmi Note 8 might launch soon in China. In fact, Redmi’s GM, Lu Weibing, replied to a user asking about the Redmi Note 8 & the reply hints at the Note 8 being a major upgrade over the Note 7.

With smartphone brands like Realme, Oppo, Vivo etc. launching back to back budget phones, it is very necessary that Redmi upgrades its “Note” lineup by launching the Note 8. Note 7 brought the 48MP camera sensor in the budget segment & there are now rumours that the Note 8 is bringing the 64MP camera sensor. That might seem pretty unlikely, but well, it is Xiaomi so you cannot say anything.

The Note 7 launched with the Snapdragon 660 SOC so the Redmi Note 8 might launch with Snapdragon 710 or 712.
