Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition goes official with Snapdragon 768G

Exactly five months after the launch of Redmi K30 5G in China, Redmi launched the K30 5G Speed Edition today. The main upgrade comes in the form of the SOC, which is the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G. This also means the Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition is the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 768G SOC. Interestingly, this phone launched at the same starting price of 1,999 Yuan at which the K30 5G launched last year in China.

REDMI K30 5G SPEED EDITION – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

There isn’t any change in the design when compared to the K30 5G. It has the same dual punch-hole selfie cameras on the front and a Quad camera setup on the rear. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the right side.

The K30 5G Speed Edition comes in a new Mint Blue color option & this new color option is the only way to differentiate the Speed Edition & the K30 5G from the outside.

Talking about the specs, the phone comes with a 6.67-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. There is Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G 5G SOC powering this device, and it is an upgrade over the Redmi K30 5G’s Snapdragon 765G. Talking about the upgrades that it brings, the Snapdragon 768G comes with a higher clock speed of 2.8GHz for its Kryo 475 CPU.

The Adreno 620 GPU has a higher frequency that results in 15% faster graphics rendering compared to Snapdragon 765G.

Apart from the SOC, rest of the specs are the same as the Redmi K30 5G, i.e., a Quad camera setup on the rear that includes a primary 64 Megapixel IMX686 sensor, 20MP + 2MP dual selfie cameras, a 4,500mAh battery & 30W fast charging.
