Last month, Redmi Note 9 4G launched in China alongside the Note 9 5G & Note 9 Pro 5G. Well today, that phone launched in the Indian market but with a different name. It launched as the Redmi 9 Power because there is already Redmi Note 9 available to buy in India. Anyways, apart from the name, it is the exact same device, so there is the same huge 6,000mAh battery, the Snapdragon 662 SOC, a 48 Megapixel Quad camera setup & more. In India, the phone starts at Rs 10,999 & the price goes up to 11,999.
We talked about the phone in detail in our article on the Note 9 4G so in short, the Redmi 9 Power comes with a side-facing fingerprint scanner, a rectangular Quad camera setup on the rear, a waterdrop notch on the front & a USB Type-C port on the bottom. The back has a textured finish, so it not only helps in getting a better grip but reduces the fingerprints as well.
As the name shows, the biggest highlight of this phone is its battery. The phone comes with a massive 6,000mAh battery and a battery of this size when paired with a power-efficient processor like the Snapdragon 662 means that it is going to last really long. On normal usage, it can easily last two days for sure. While the phone supports 18W fast charging, you get a 22.5W charger in the box.
The display on the front is a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ panel & there is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The waterdrop notch on top houses an 8 Megapixel selfie camera in it. Speaking of the cameras, there is a Quad camera setup that includes a primary 48 Megapixel camera paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2 Megapixel macro & a 2 Megapixel depth sensor.
Finally, Android 10 based MIUI 12 runs out of the box.
In India, the Redmi 9 Power comes in two storage options. The 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at Rs 10,999 whereas the 4GB + 128GB variant at Rs 11,999. You can buy the phone on the 22nd of December from Mi.com, Amazon & the Retail Stores.
