Do you remember the Moto Edge X30? That was the first phone to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC, and it launched in December last year. Almost three months after its initial launch in China, the phone is now official in the global market. In Europe and India, this phone is named Motorola Edge 30 Pro, whereas, for the US, it is named Motorola Edge Plus 2022. Compared to the Chinese variant, there is hardly any difference apart from the battery size and charging speed.

In the global market as well, there are two color options named Cosmos Blue and Stardust White. Compared to the X30 Pro in China, the Edge 30 Pro is slightly heavier at 196g (vs. 194g) and thicker at 8.79mm (vs. 8.5mm). There is a Gorilla Glass 5 back with a matte finish. The camera module has a triple camera setup in it, and the fingerprint scanner is present on the side, not under the display.

There is no headphone jack on this phone, so all you get is a USB Type-C port on the bottom. There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and triple microphones.

The display on the front is a 6.7-inch 10-bit P-OLED with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, FHD+ resolution, and SGS Blue-Eye Certification. Under the hood, Motorola Edge 30 Pro has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC, which is paired with 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256/512GB  UFS 3.1 storage.

The triple camera setup on the back includes a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture lens and OIS, a 50MP secondary sensor for ultrawide + macro shots (114-degree FOV), and a 2MP depth sensor. The primary camera is capable of 8K 24fps and 4K 60fps recording. There is a 60MP camera for selfies, and this can record 4K 60fps videos as well.

So far, there is no difference in the specifications. But, when it comes to battery and charging, there are some differences between the Edge 30 Pro and the Edge X30. The Chinese variant comes with a 5,000mAh battery, but the Motorola Edge 30 Pro comes with a 4,800mAh battery. The charging speed remains the same at 68W. Moreover, there is also 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.

In the US, this phone is named Motorola Edge Plus 2022, and instead of 68W charging, the phone supports 30W charging. Finally, Android 12 runs out of the box with Motorola’s My UX on top.

Speaking of the price, the Motorola Edge 30 Pro is priced at ₹49,999 in India and comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. In Europe, it is priced at €799, and you get 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. In the US, the Edge Plus 2022 is priced at $999.
