Realme 9 5G SE (Speed Edition) to launch on March 10 in India

It is a rebadged Realme Q3s

Realme recently launched the Realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ in the Indian market, but one phone that the company has not yet launched under this series is the vanilla Realme 9. Now, Realme has officially announced that on the 10th of March, two new 5G phones are launching under the Realme 9 series in India. These are reportedly named Realme 9 5G and 5G SE. In this article, let us talk about the Realme 9 5G SE (Speed Edition) because that phone is coming with the Snapdragon 778G 5G SOC, the same chip that powers Realme GT Master Edition.

In one line, the Realme 9 5G SE is a rebadged Realme Q3s that launched in China last year. So, design-wise, it has a rectangular camera module on the back with a triple camera array in it, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a flat panel with a hole punch in the corner, a Type-C port on the bottom, and a headphone jack.

The main USP of this phone is its SOC. It has a Snapdragon 778G 5G SOC under the hood, which, as we know, is a very powerful mid-range 5G chip. The same SOC powers the Realme GT Master Edition as well, currently selling in India for around Rs 25,000. Realme claims that this phone is going to be the fastest 5G phone in its price segment, which makes us believe that the price is going to be around 20K.

Realme 9 5G SE

Another interesting thing about Realme 9 5G SE is its display. It is an LCD, not an AMOLED. But, the refresh rate is 144Hz which is the highest on any Realme phone launched in India so far. This is a 6.6-inch LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution.

The triple camera array on the back includes a primary camera with a 48MP sensor and two 2MP sensors. So, there is no ultrawide camera on this phone. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and it supports 30W fast charging.

So yeah, the Realme 9 5G SE is all about the performance, hence the name. We do not know at what price this phone is coming to the Indian market, but we expect the starting price to be around Rs 20,000.
