Poco India launched a new budget phone in the market today, the Poco C71. This is an entry-level smartphone without 5G support, and the price starts at ₹6,499. It should not come as a surprise that this is a rebrand of an existing smartphone from Redmi. The Redmi A5 was launched globally a few days ago, and the C71 is the same phone with a different rear design.
Design-wise, the Poco C71 comes in three colors and a dual-tone design on the rear. Poco calls it the “Split Grid” design. The camera module has two circles, but only one has a camera sensor. The display on the front has a waterdrop notch and a thick bottom bezel. The phone is IP52-certified.
Under the hood, the Poco C71 has the Unisoc T7250 chipset, which is built on the 12nm process and features a CPU clocked at up to 1.8GHz. The phone has a big 5,200mAh battery with 15W charging.
The display is one of the highlights of this phone. The Poco C71 has a large 6.88-inch display, and the company claims it to be the segment’s largest display. This is an LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 720p resolution. The display has wet touch support. The rear camera has a 32MP sensor with an f/2.0 lens and up to 1080p 30fps video recording support. The selfie shooter has an 8MP sensor with up to 1080p 30fps video recording support.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 15 out of the box, and the company has promised two major OS updates for this device.
The color options are Cool Blue, Desert Gold, and Power Black. Here is the pricing for the Indian market –
- 4GB + 64GB – ₹6,499
- 6GB + 128GB – ₹7,499
