A couple of weeks ago, Oppo launched Reno5 & Reno5 Pro smartphones in the Chinese market and announced that the company would launch another phone under this series soon named the Reno5 Pro+. Well, the Oppo Reno5 Pro+ is now official and as the name suggests, this is the most expensive device under the Reno5 series. The biggest USP of this phone is its primary rear camera. Reno5 Pro+ is the World;’s first smartphone to feature the new 50 Megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor. While it is a high-end flagship from the company, Oppo went for the Snapdragon 865 instead of Snapdragon 865+ or the newer Snapdragon 888.

OPPO RENO5 PRO+ DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS

Speaking of the design, the Reno5 Pro+ looks exactly similar to the Reno5 Pro with one exception and that’s the rear camera module. The Reno5 Pro+ has a Quad camera setup that also includes a telephoto camera for taking zoom shots. There is also two sets of dual LED flash so that’s interesting. There is the same curved panel on the front and the position of the hole-punch cutout remains unchanged.

A new “Reno Glow” Black color variant is also there that is not there for the Reno5 Pro (Reno5 Pro has a normal Black colour option).

The Oppo Reno5 Pro+ has a 6.55-inch 90Hz AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution on the front as on the Reno5 Pro and so there is no change in the resolution or the refresh rate. The display on the Plus variant has a peak brightness of 1,100nits. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SOC so the company decided to go with the Qualcomm route after going for MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ in case of the Reno5 Pro. There is 8/12GB RAM paired with 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. For comparison, the Reno5 Pro has UFS 2.1 storage.

Speaking of the camera setup, there is a primary 50 Megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization and f/1.8 aperture. It is a 1/1.56″ sensor and the Reno5 Pro+ is the first smartphone to launch with this camera sensor. This camera is paired with a 13 Megapixel telephoto lens, a 16 Megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2 Megapixel macro camera. On the front, there is a 32 Megapixel camera.

Finally, the Oppo Reno5 Pro+ has a 4,500mAh battery and supports 65W fast charging.
