We already know that the OnePlus Nord 2 is coming with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 chipset, but until now, there was no official word from the brand regarding the same. Now, OnePlus has officially announced on its community forum that the Nord 2 has Dimensity 1200 chip, making it the first OnePlus device with a MediaTek SOC. OnePlus, on the official forum, also said that on top of the regular Dimensity 1200 chipset, there are new AI-based features that are going to enhance the overall user experience. Due to this reason, OnePlus calls it the Dimensity 1200-AI SOC.
So, what are the AI features that the Nord 2 comes with? To begin with, there is AI-assisted imaging for an improved photography experience, AI-based display enhancements, and more. OnePlus refrained from revealing all of the AI features, so it looks like we will have to wait till the official launch. With AI-assisted imaging, the camera software can recognize 22 different scenes and apply settings best suited for each scene. During video recording, there is support for Live HDR as well. The SDR to HD & HDR conversion is also possible with the new AI features.
Speaking of the launch, OnePlus has also announced when the Nord 2 is launching. The launch is set to take place on the 22nd of July, which means we still have a couple of weeks left. So far, the leaks point towards a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ 90Hz AMOLED, a 50 Megapixel Sony IMX766 primary shooter on the rear & a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
