OnePlus 9 reportedly has two 48 Megapixel cameras on the rear

Last week, we got the CAD render of next year’s OnePlus 9 smartphone that revealed the design of the phone from the front and the rear. We saw a slightly different camera setup design on the rear that seemed inspired by the design of iPhone’s camera setup. We got to know that the phone has a triple camera setup on the rear & a flat display with a single hole-punch cutout placed on the top left corner. Well, today, 91Mobiles revealed the camera details of the phone in an exclusive report & also shared the live image of the triple camera setup.

The live shot of the OnePlus 9’s triple camera setup shows the same design as revealed by the CAD render a week ago. It shows two big camera sensors along with a small one which could be a dedicated macro camera, but that’s not yet confirmed. As per 91Mobiles, the OnePlus 9 has a primary 48 Megapixel rear camera that is paired with another 48 Megapixel camera that is there for the ultrawide shots. Whether the primary 48 Megapixel camera has been upgraded from the IMX586 seen on the OnePlus 8 & 8T is something that is not yet confirmed.

But we are expecting OnePlus to upgrade the camera sensor this time & go for the 48MP IMX689 sensor that we saw on the OnePlus 8 Pro this year. If that would be the case, then it won’t be a surprise to see the IMX586 sensor for the ultrawide camera, again similar to the OnePlus 8 Pro.

91Mobiles further reported that the display on the phone is bigger than the 6.55-inch panel on the 8T & there is 120Hz refresh rate. The chipset is Snapdragon 875 & there is 65W Warp Charge support as well.
