After Samsung and Apple, we now have Motorola launching a super-slim smartphone. The Motorola X70 Air has been announced in the Chinese market, and this is an ultra-slim smartphone packing a big battery. The ‘X’ series phones from Motorola are usually launched under the ‘Edge’ series in the global market, and we expect the same with the X70 Air.

Design-wise, the camera module is similar to the other Motorola phones, so we have a square camera island on the rear with dual cameras and the LED flash. The phone comes in three colors, and this time, Motorola has added some extra design touches. Each color option gets its unique paint job for the camera rings and the power button. The phone has a metal frame and features an IP68 + IP69 combo. There is a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.

The main USP of this phone is its thickness. At its lowest, the thickness is just 5.3mm. The phone weighs around 159g. For comparison, the iPhone Air is 5.6mm while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8mm. And despite being such a slim phone, the Motorola X70 Air packs a big 4,800mAh battery. Yes, it is not as big as other Chinese smartphones these days, but it is still impressive, considering the S25 Edge has a 3,900mAh battery & weighs 163g. The phone supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

This is a mid-range smartphone, hence a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 powers this device. The phone has LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 3.1 storage.

The display is a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4500 nits peak brightness. The dual cameras on the rear include a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide. There is a 50MP sensor for the selfie shooter.

The phone runs on Android 16 out of the box.

The Motorola X70 Air comes in three colors – Pantone Gadget Gray, Pantone Bronze Green, and Pantone Lily Pad. The price for the Chinese market has not been announced yet. The phone is rumored to launch outside China as the Edge 70.
