After the Motorola Edge 50, Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro, and Edge 50 Ultra, we have a fifth member in the Edge 50 series named the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. The Edge 50 Neo comes with a similar design language as the Edge 50 & Edge 50 Pro, with one big difference. The phone has a flat display instead of a curved one.
Apart from a flat display and a slightly different LED flash placement on the rear, there is no difference versus other Edge 50 series devices. Unlike the Edge 50 & Edge 5 Pro, which have a metal frame, the Edge 50 Neo features a plastic frame. The back has a vegan leather finish, and the front has Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone has a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support but lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. The fingerprint scanner is placed under the display. The phone is IP68-certified and features MIL-STD-810H certification.
Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo has the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G chipset. Built on the 4nm process, this chipset has an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.5GHz. There is 12GB LPDDR4X RAM with 512GB uMCP storage. The battery is 4,310mAh, and the phone supports 68W wired charging with 15W wireless charging.
On the back, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo has three cameras. The primary camera uses a 50MP Sony LYT-700C sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture. The secondary camera has a 13MP sensor with an ultrawide lens. The ultrawide camera can take macro shots. Finally, there is a 10MP sensor with a 3x telephoto lens and OIS. The phone can shoot 4K 30fps videos from the primary and the ultrawide cameras.
For selfies, the phone has a 32MP sensor. There is support for 4K 30fps video recording via the front camera.
The display is a 6.4-inch pOLED with a 1.5K resolution (2670 x 1220 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness is 3000 nits, and this is an LTPO panel.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 14 out of the box.
