Moto Z4 official with Snapdragon 675 & 48MP rear camera

A couple of days back, the Moto Z4 hands-on video leaked that revealed almost everything about the phone. Today, the phone was announced officially & so, we know everything about the 4th generation Moto Z now. As we already know, it isn’t a flagship like Moto Z3 but rather a mid-ranger with the Snapdragon 675 processor. Still, like previous Moto Z phones, it does support Moto Mods.

Thanks to the Moto Mods support, the phone supports 5G as well via the 5G Moto Mod. Talking about the design, there isn’t anything fancy. The phone looks similar to previous Moto Z phones from the rear, and that’s all for the Moto Mods compatibility.

There is now just a single camera on the rear placed in that circular module. The fingerprint scanner is now under the display, making the Moto Z4 first phone from the brand to have an in-screen fingerprint reader.

There is an edge-to-edge display on the front with a small bottom bezel & a U-shaped notch on top that houses the single front camera. It is a 6.4-inch OLED Full-HD+ (2340 x 1080) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone has Gorilla Glass 3 on top of the screen. Under the hood, there is 11nm Snapdragon 675 processor with Adreno 612 GPU. The Moto Z4 comes in just one storage option, i.e. 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM.

Coming to the cameras, the Moto Z4 has a single 48MP camera with f/1.7 aperture, OIS, & Quad Pixel technology to take 12MP photos. There is Laser Autofocus as well apart from the PDAF. Some rear camera features include Night Vision, Cinemagraph, Portrait / AI Portrait Lighting, Spot Color, AR stickers, Panorama, Live Filter, Google Lens etc. The rear camera can shot 4K 30fps videos.

There is a single 25MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture & Quad Pixel technology to take 6.25MP photos with 1.8um pixel size. The front camera features include Cinemagraph, Portrait / AI Portrait Lighting, Spot Color, Group Selfie, Live Filter etc.

Moto Z4 has a 3,600mAh battery that supports 15W Turbocharging via the Turbocharger included in the box. There is a USB Type-C port & the phone also has the headphone jack. There is a single front firing speaker embedded in the earpiece. Android 9 Pie runs out of the box, which is mostly stock with a couple of Motorola apps.

Other features include P2i nanocoating, 6000-series polished aluminium frame, Moto Display, Moto Actions, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC etc.

Finally, coming to the pricing & availability, the Moto Z4 is priced at $499 in the US & will be available in Flash Gray color on June 13th via Verizon. The moto z4 will be available universally unlocked at Best Buy, B&H Photo, and on Amazon.com (with Alexa Hands-Free) starting June 6 (Presale May 30) bundled with the moto 360 camera moto mod for $499.99.

In Canada, the new moto z4 will be available later this summer.
